Original Game Ideas – Winter Island (Characters)

The main character of the game is Jennifer Marie Star, who also goes by the name Jenny. Coming from the richest family of Terra Vita, she has all of the money and power. However, she isn’t interested into being above others, as she would rather relax and do what she enjoys.

Appearance:

• As a 16-year-old girl in the events of the game, she is tall and skinny. She is white, her eyes are brown, and she has a couple freckles on her face. Her hair is red (strawberry blonde), long, curly, and always tied in a bun.
• She wears a pink polo shirt and a navy-blue khaki skirt, along with thick white stockings and black dress shoes. Her skirt is pleated and slightly shorter than knee-length. When she is outside or in another cold area, she wears a red winter coat with a striped navy blue scarf, navy blue mittens, and navy blue earmuffs.
• She also has gold-and-diamond earrings.

Personality:

• Although she is caring, mature, and respectful, she is very strict. As someone who watches her younger sisters and the boys that live with her family, the children dread her due to her high expectations. She believed that a B is a failing grade, even when her parents told her that she should start caring if she got a C or less. Her strict demeanor also applied when she starts teaching at church and when she leads Charlotte and Andrew.
• She is also very smart and knowledgeable. She knows everything in the Bible, and she is an expert in science. She’s also good with civics, as she knows what is right and what is wrong.
• In terms of how wealth has a negative influence on others, she is incorruptible, for that she would never let money or material spoil her. For how much wealth she has, there’s not much that she wants or is looking for. But she refuses to share her money with the kids due to the belief that they may become spoiled brats.
• She is very bound to the rules and instructions. Even if the rules are wrong, she doesn’t break them except if God tells her to.

Other Details:

• She is born on February 13^th, 1920, in a suite hotel room in Lumen City. As she told others, she was born on Friday the 13^th.
• Her religion is Protestantism. Despite her strict personality, she believes in a more progressive viewpoint in Christianity, such as that future sins are all forgiven in the present if she repents once.
• She can eat almost anything for as long as it’s suitable for humans. However, she doesn’t eat very much.
• Both her mother and her father were born in Louisiana. Her father was a World War I veteran and church employee at the Palm City Cathedral, and her mother owns all of Terra Vita’s utilities via corporation.

One of Jenny’s companions during her quest to ending the eternal winter. When Jenny first met her, she was trapped in the Cold Caves, about to be fed to a beast. After being rescued, she helped Jenny on investigations, charity contributions, and cult suppression.

Appearance:

• Just like Jenny, she is skinny, but she is slightly shorter. She is white, and her eyes are blue. Her hair is honey blonde, long, straight, and tied in a ponytail.
• She wears an orange polo shirt and a gray khaki skirt, along with white stockings and black dress shoes. Her skirt is pleated and mid-thigh length. She frequently has a black blazer over her shirt.
• She also wears glasses.

Personality:

• Charlotte is very nice and sweet, who was also willing to help anybody. She was willing to be nice to all. She is friendly, optimistic, has a positive attitude, and cheerful.
• She is the weakest of the three, but she’s smarter than Andrew. Her strength over others is beauty and artistic abilities. She also won more contests than anyone else.
• Charlotte is also very popular. She was the most popular girl at her school. Although her popularity has made her vain, she tried not to let that get the better of herself, as she understood why she was popular.
• Although she would follow the rules when necessary, she focuses more on what’s right and less on what’s allowed. But she can also be impractical with her decisions.

Other Details:

• She is born on April 9^th, 1920, at a hospital in Lumen City. She told others that she was born on the 100^th day of the 20^th year of the 20^th century.
• Her religion is Roman Catholicism. While not as religious as Jenny, she sees the importance of religion.
• She is a vegetarian. While she is open to eating milk products and sometimes fish, she would never eat meat.
• Both her mother and her father were born in Florida. Her father was a snowmobile dealer in Palm City, while her mother was a weather control scientist who froze the caves and the top of the mountains.

One of Jenny’s companions during her quest to ending the eternal winter. When Jenny met him, he was imprisoned in the Gauntlet of Death basement, about to be sacrificed to the Brazen Bull. After he was rescued, he helped Jenny on her quest to defeating the cult.

Appearance:

• Andrew is slightly taller than Jenny, but is a bit wider due to muscle. He his white, and his eyes are green. His hair is brown, short, straight, and combed. his face is bearded with a mustache.
• His outfit consists of an orange tunic, thick brown tights, black shoes, and black gloves.

Personality:

• Andrew is brash, tough, and aggressive. He tends to be mean and rude to others. He’s also pessimistic and paranoid.
• He is the strongest of the three, but also the dumbest. He’s smart enough for the basics, but he doesn’t know much beyond that.
• He is poor and unpopular. He is a bully who likes to pick on anyone just for the fun of it. He also doesn’t have a specific target or a specific reason to pick on others.
• He has no sense or regard of the rules. He believes he should be free to do whatever he wants. He is also selfish, but has a heart of gold.

Other Details:

• He is born on December 12^th, 1919 at his house in Lumen City. Being close to Christmas, he never got presents for his birthday.
• His religion is Protestantism. Although he accepts Jesus and believes in God, he usually doesn’t go to church due to his parents’ distrust in the local churches.
• He eats a lot, as he’s willing to eat more than anyone else. However, he is a very picky eater, as there are many foods that he wouldn’t eat.
• Both his mother and his father were born in Texas. Only his father made money for the family, as he was a street sweeper.

The primary helper character of the game. He was Jenny’s father figure, but also the biological son of James. He became mayor of Lumen City who never lost reelection since he first got elected due to his popularity.

Appearance:

• Mr. Barquoy is tall and very fat. He is white, has a few wrinkles, and has green eyes. His hair is white, as he is bald at the top, has a mustache, and has a big and long beard.
• His outfit consists of a light green mayoral suit with black shoes. He frequently carries a black cane.

Personality:

• Mr. Barquoy is very sweet and caring. He treated Jenny as his daughter when her father was too busy, even though he is single and has no kids.
• He is also unbiased and listens to everyone from both sides. His attention to everyone is why he was so popular and why his mayoral approval rating was very high.
• He is an average person when it comes to knowledge, but he is very good with leadership and knows what the best decisions are.
• Although he takes work seriously, he’s also fun and laid back.

Other Details:

• He was born on October 31^st, 1894 at a hospital in Moonlight Harbor under the name of George Tyler Pride. Although his mother loved him, his father hated him from the beginning.
• Up until he ran away from his old family and found a new family that would care for him, he had a miserable life. He came from a poor family, was frequently abused by his father, was bullied and hated by everyone at his school because of how bad his father was as a kid, and had his house broken into a couple of times. The only person he liked was Francine Miller, who became his girlfriend and promised to marry her. But after his father killed her as a punishment for breaking curfew, and beaten so badly where he was sent to a hospital, he had enough and decided to run away.
• After living in a new family, he had a much better life. He changed his last name to Barquoy since it was his nickname Francine gave him. He was also given a power from God out of sympathy for his rough childhood, where he can learn everything about a person by reading into their souls. He was also given the power where he can teach that to only one person. He taught Jenny that on the day she was born.
• He is willing to eat anything, and he eats a lot. But one thing he enjoys most are snacks.

The main antagonist of the game. At the beginning, he was the minister of the Palm City Cathedral. While pretending to be a benevolent man who ruled all over Terra Vita, he was also the leader of a cult called “The Order”, which was responsible for organized crime on the island.

Appearance:

• James is taller than Mr. Barquoy, but also very skinny. He has white skin, short white hair, and brown eyes.
• He was frequently seen in a brown robe and a brown cap, along with a silver cross necklace. In the first half of the game, it was pure silver. But in the second half, it was tarnished.

Personality:

• James has always been an evil person from the beginning. He only cared about himself, as well as money and power.
• He had many interests that he followed only if they benefited him. But if they didn’t benefit him, he abandoned it. This was eventually how he became associated with religion.
• He was also abusive as a leader. When he was the minister of the Palm City Cathedral and the leader of the cult he ran, he pretended to be God and abused it for his personal advantage.
• He was filled with hate. Anybody who got in his way was hated by him.

Additional Details:

• He was born on August 18^th, 1872, in Moonlight Harbor.
• Despite pretending to be God and enforcing religion upon everyone, he has very little knowledge on the Bible. All he knew were the rules and a few stories.
• According to his backstory, he used to be a school bully, an abusive father, and an adulterer. Some of the worst things he did include kidnapping Chester Miller’s puppy and killing him in front of everyone by hanging him by the legs and stabbing him with a baton at school, attempted killing Chester Miller the same way, kidnapped and murdered Francine Miller (Chester’s daughter and Mr. Barquoy’s girlfriend) by drowning her in a cage in Moonlight Harbor, and beating his son so badly that he went to the hospital. He gotten away with everything he did wrong.
• He became the minister of the Palm City Cathedral by pretending to be God and deceiving everyone. When he took over, he took over the entire island and turned it into a theocracy.
