Game ideas aren’t the only ideas I have. I also have show ideas. Re-using some characters I created back in the days of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, they would make a perfect TV show.
When I was a kid, I was more into cartoons, but I also enjoyed video games. However, I am more into watching or playing the same stuff instead of trying everything. But starting the 2010’s, I’ve been watching much less TV, as I became more of a video gamer. However, some of the weird creative ideas I had over the years, I didn’t want to waste. They include:
- A lemonade sale contest where four competitors started selling stuff other than lemonade and got into a fight.
- A mysterious gauntlet of death accessible through a basement (used as part of my Winter Island).
- Walkthrough Survival Contests (where death boots you out of a virtual world instead of killing you for rea).
- The blondestone (a magical rock that gives blonde-haired women magical powers).
- I also had a mystery where the blondestone gets stolen as the culprit childishly ransacked the blondestone owner’s house.
I thought about putting them all into one show. And that is Kaylee’s Penthouse.
Characters and Setting:
The show is set in Houston from 2016 to 2021 while the girls were in college. Most episodes are set in a luxurious apartment high above the ground. The owner of the penthouse is Kaylee Harmison, a 22-year-old woman coming from Southern California. She shares an apartment with Jennifer Garcia and Penelope Alvarez, two white Mexicans who moved into the United States. She also shares her penthouse with a rich Mexican family who agreed to take care of the apartment for as long as they let them live there.
Main Trio:
The main trio are Kaylee, Jenny, and Penny, three women born in the last three months of 1993. Although they like to dress the same, their personalities make them stand out.
Appearance:
- All three of them have long, straight hair tied in a ponytail. Kaylee’s hair is dark brown, Jenny’s hair is medium blonde, and Penny’s hair is light blonde. They also have different colored eyes, where Kaylee’s are brown, Jenny’s are blue, and Penny’s are green.
- Their primary outfits consist of a flower hairpin, a short-sleeved polo shirt, a navy-blue khaki skirt that’s pleated and slightly shorter than knee-length, white socks, and brown shoes.
- Among other outfits they appear in:
- With the exception of her purple winter dress and her pink nightdress, all outfits Kaylee wears include a skirt that is longer than a miniskirt, but shorter than knee-length. She tends to dress more professionally, even as casual wear.
- Most of Jenny’s and Penny’s outfits consists of dresses or skirts. They sometimes wear pants.
Personality:
- Although all three women are sweet, they have their own personalities.
- Kaylee is the most mature and level-headed of the three. She’s willing to make up her mind on decisions and is not too stubborn about them. As the owner of the penthouse, she laid the rules to both residents and visitors.
- Jenny is creative and competitive. She’s only won gold trophies and medals, as well as blue ribbons.
- Penny is the smartest of the three. She knows math and science better than her friends.
- One thing they had in common, regardless of conflicts, is that they were an inseparable trio. They stick up for each other.
Additional Facts:
- Jenny and Penny came from very poor families. Kaylee is very rich. When her father let her move on her own, he gave her $10 million (which was 5% of his entire wealth).
- Jenny and Penny were both victims of racism coming from both the left-wing and right-wing.
- Jenny is a vegetarian. Penny only eats meat, dairy, and bread.
- While in college, Kaylee is studying business and hospitality, Jenny is studying culinary arts and interior design, and Penny is studying Physics and Chemistry.
- All three of them are single. However, Kaylee did have a history of being in relationships.
Allison:
Allison May is a friend of Kaylee’s back in high school. She eventually became a detective who looked for clues each time a crime happens.
Appearance:
- Allison has light brown hair that is long, straight, and tied in a ponytail. Her eyes are brown.
- Her primary outfit consists of a dark gray sweater, blue jeans, white socks, and black shoes. She has a yellow t-shirt underneath her sweater.
Personality:
- Allison is smart, but also very cautious and very serious.
- When she’s visiting her friends, she was willing to stand up for them.
Dream Machine Team:
The six main characters in the Dream Machine episodes. They were originally part of a larger cast who went to test Kaylee’s Dream Machine, but they later returned for more adventures. All of them are 16 years old in the events of the show.
Appearance:
- All six girls have straight and long hair in different hairstyles. While Holly and Charlotte have their hair tied in a ponytail, the other girls have their hair loose.
- Holly has blonde hair. Charlotte and Jamie have brown hair. Kara and Rosie have brown hair. Amanda has black hair.
- Charlotte, Amanda, and Rosie all have brown eyes. Jamie and Kara have blue eyes. Holly has green eyes.
- All six girls are wearing tan explorer shirts, white socks, black shoes, and tan fedoras with a hibiscus. Their khakis the only thing that differs among the girls.
- Holly is wearing dark green pants. Charlotte is wearing navy-blue pants. Kara is wearing white pants. Jamie is wearing brown pants. Rosie is wearing black pants. And Amanda is wearing dark red pants.
Personality:
- Holly is the leader of the group. She tends to be enthusiastic about adventures, but is also the dumbest.
- Charlotte is nice, but she is also very serious.
- Kara is helpful and willing to stick up for her friends.
- Jamie is very cheerful and excited.
- Rosie is busy and contributive.
- Amanda is mean and aggressive, but willing to be part of the team.
Episodes:
There are 20 episodes per season. The first ten episodes focus on the weird and silly adventures of Kaylee, Jenny, and Penny as they host parties or visit other places. These tend to be more episodic and lighthearted, as they focus on the character development of Kaylee and her friends.
The last ten episodes are what I call the “Dream Machine” episodes, which are centered on the guests that use the Dream Machine built and tested by Kaylee, Jenny, and Penny. Each season focuses on a different environment of the Dream Machine, and all Dream Machine episodes are serialized.
About the Dream Machine, it’s a machine built by Kaylee, Jenny, and Penny. Anyone who wears a helmet while the Dream Machine is activated will be sent to a different world. They could stay in the alternative world for as long as they want, even if it’s a year or longer, but once they’re out, one hour has passed in the real world. While they’re inside the strange world, they don’t need to eat, drink, sleep, or use the restroom. However, anything can kill them, including tripping over. Once they die, they’ll wake up from the Dream Machine. They’ll also wake up if they complete the mission set by Kaylee.
